Back From Malaysia
(N.Z Press Association)
AUCKLAND, Nov. 18.
Sixty-three men of the Ist Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, arrived by air at Whenuapai yesterday after two years in Malaysia. At the airport to meet them were relatives and friends. For some of the married men there were also babies they had never seen or who had grown beyond recognition. The men have been based in Malaya, but most spent several months recently on patrols in Borneo. They are the first of about 350 infantrymen who will be replaced soon.
