SUPERB SQUASH
Invitation Event (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. K. Hiscoe beat a fellowAustralian, R. Carter, in an outstanding squash final, and G. Moss and Miss S. Clement had surprise tennis wins when the John Reid invitation lawn tennis and squash tournaments ended at the Remuera club, Auckland. yesterday. The tournament provided perhaps the finest exhibition of squash seen in New Zealand when Hiscoe beat Carter, 10-9 in the fifth game.
Hiscoe won, 4-9, 9-6, 9-4, 5-9 10-9.
In the women’s final Miss M. Waugh (Remuera) beat Mrs H. Corporal (Remuera), 9-3, 9-4, 9-5. G. Moss (Eden-Epsom) showed a sensational return to form when he won the men’s invitation tennis event, beating J. E. Robson (West End). 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 Miss Clement was also in exception! form in the women’s singles and easily beat Mrs E Stephen (Herne Bay), 6-2, 6-0 Earlier. Miss Clement had beaten the No. 1 seed, Mrs R. Davy. 6-3, 4-6. 6-3.
