BEEF FOR BRITAIN
Less Imported This Year (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, Nov. 21. Beef imports into Britain during the first nine months of this year dropped by almost 41,000 tons, according to latest figures released by the Board of Trade. This year 208,176 tons have been brought into this country compared with 249,521 tons in the same period last year. Lamb imports in the same period increased by more than 6000 tons and mutton was up by 7000 tons. Argentina supplied the bulk of the beef and veal although the amount from this source was well down on last year. New Zealand supplied 19,455 tons, an increase of 3542 tons on the same period last year.
