‘MISCHIEF’ CHARGE
Mother In Court (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, Nov. 16. A mother had abandoned her dead baby daughter in a grass-strewn vacant allotment while on her way to a supermarket, the Parramatta Court was told today. The mother, Mrs Sandra Clare James, aged 21, had told a detective she had earlier found the infant girl dead in a stroller in the bedroom of her home at Merrylands, Sydney. Mrs James was charged with creating a public mischief in reporting on September 16 that the infant, Glenda, aged seven months, had been kidnapped. The baby’s body was found on a vacant allotment at Merrylands on October 3.
