(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 5. The liquor industry has been called on to answer a complaint by the Examiner of Trade Practices that there was a breach of the Trade Practices Act in the recent price rise for beer, whisky and other spirits throughout New Zealand. A public hearing before the Trade Practices’ Commission will be held, but the industry will first consider the Examiner’s report and reply to it. The hearing may not be till after the New Year. The Hotel Association yesterday received a copy of the Examiner’s report, an association official said today.
