PUBLIC SERVICE STUDY AWARDS IN LAND SURVEYING VACANCY NO. 43 These awards are being offered by the State Services Commission to give boys the opportunity of studying towards the Diploma in Land Surveying at the University of Otago. Provided that satisfactory progress is maintained the award will be continued until the Diploma is completed. Applicants must have Higher School Certificate with mathematics and physics and preference will be given to those who have completed one or more year’s study towards the Diploma. Applicants must have good eyesight and be physically fit. Successful applicants will be bonded to the Public Service for a number of years equal to that for which assistance has b«en granted. ALLOWANCES: (1) An allowance of £l5O an . academic year is paid in addition to any Education Department bursary held. (2) A boarding allowance where applicable for fees and allowances bursars will be paid by the Edu cation Department. A fees only bursar may, in special circumstances and where necessary, be paid a £lOO boarding allowance. (3) A married student may receive a marriage allowance of £175 a year less the amount of any boarding allowance received.
