“THE VALIANT WARRIOR.”—A Maori figure carved in kauri by Mr B. A. Sommerfield, of Sydenham. It will be placed in the 28th (Maori) Battalion Memorial Hall in Palmerston North. The carving has been produced for Mrs PoanangaMoore, of the Maori Women’s League. Her son, Lieutenant-Colonel B. M. Poananga, commanding officer of the Ist Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, has already accepted it on behalf of Mrs Poananga-Moore from Mr Sommerfield.
