Ten Acres Bought For Quins’ Home

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 5.

The Government has paid £5OOO for a 10acre section overlooking the Waitemata harbour on behalf of Mr and Mrs Samuel Lawson and their quintuplets.

The Minister in charge of the State Advances Corporation (Mr Rae) said today the land was in Hbbsonville. The section would be held as Crown property until the Lawson family put forward building plans for the site — and at this point the Government would discuss financing the scheme with them. At present the family is living in an Auckland Hospital Board house which is available to them for two years. “But when the time comes that the Lawson family thinks of building their own home they will have a section ready for them which will give them privacy and seclusion,” said Mr Rae. Mrs Lawson said in Auckland today that she did not know when the family would move. A house would have to be

built first. The property would be used for grazing sheep in the meantime. The section in Luckens road is part of a subdivision from a dairy farm. It is rolling pasture land. The Minister of Marine (Mr Scott) has a farm in Luckens road.
