Vassily Symslov, won first place at the international chess championships which ended in Santiago on Wednesday, Associated Press reported. Smyslov drew his last game with the Argentinian. Alberto Foguelman, in 52 moves, and scored a total of 11 points out of a possible 13. Effim Geller, also of Russia, took second place, with 10( points, when he defeated the Chilean, David Godoy, in only 15 moves. Foguelman was third, with 10 points. The Peruvian champion. Oscar Quinonnes, was fourth, with seven points.
