Children’s Fashions

The current trend for the “hard-sell” in the United States is not confined to adult fashion. So off to New York this week go members of Britain’s teen-age, infants' and children’s fashion houses, says a London correspondent.

Never have children been so fashion-conscious, and they are demanding scaled-down versions of their big-sisters' “with-it” clothes.

Even the three-year-olds are wearing styles w’hich a few years ago would have been

considered precocious. There are diminutive cast-suits and string-vest dresses in the younger age-groups and trouser-suits for the 11 to 12-year-olds. Little boys, too, have not been overlooked and there are stylish and well-cut suits even for the smallest of them. British clothing for children is enjoying great popularity abroad at the present time and there is every hope that this latest venture to the United States will prove a great success in earning dollars.
