VEITCH ROAD INTERMEDIATE

130 At Election Of Committee About 130 parents attended a meeting to elect an interim committee for the new intermediate school which will open in Veitch road, Northcote, next year. Form I only will be accepted at the outset but already 220 of them are expected. In the second year, with forms I and 11, the roll will rise to about 445 and further increases are expected later because of very heavypresent rolls in the junior schools at Papanui, Northcote, and Bishopdale. The committee elected was: —Mr H. P. Sim (chairman), Mrs J. Webster (secretary), Mr J. Shipman (treasurer), Mrs E. Halstead, and Messrs R. Ward, P. Pilet, E. Galt, G. W. Moore, and M. Andrew. Mr W. J. Cartwright presided for the Canterbury Education Board.

Weedons Domain.— Mr D. H. Wilson has been appointed a member of the Weedons Domain Board, replacing Mr E. D. Denham.
