EXHIBITION A FAILURE
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON. Oct. 29. The exhibition of treasures of the Commonwealth, arranged in conjunction with the Commonwealth Arts Festival in London, has proved the biggest flop in the history of the Royal Academy, says the "Daily Express.” The exhibition cost £lm to mount. New Zealand’s contribution included the sternport of a Maori war canoe, carved paddles, greenstone tikis, meres and fishhooks. Since the exhibition was opened by the Duke of Edinburgh on September 16 attendances have dwindled to less than 200 a day.
