MISSING BOAT

(N.Z Press Association)

INVERCARGILL, Oct. 26.

The search for the missing Bluff crayfish boat, Marangi, continued unsuccessfully by sea and air around the Fiordland coast today. Other small fishing boats will continue searching tomorrow and will be joined again by aircraft if weather permits. The Navy and Marine Departments will take part in an advisory capacity. Aboard the craft are two fishermen. Mr L. Tipene, of Bluff, and his brother, Mr S. Tipene. of Invercargill. The Marangi has not been seen since last Wednesday morning.

This morning an Air Force Devon searched an area off the coast by Thompson Sound. In the afternoon it flew west of Stewart Island. It was joined by another Devon in the afternoon and the second plane scanned an area to the north-west of Stewart Island.

Rain and low cloud hampered the searchers.
