DRAINAGE LOAN
£450.000 To Be Raised
Preliminary steps to raise a loan of £456,000 for land drainage were authorised by the Christchurch Drainage Board last evening. Works included in the loan are
Piping of open drains: Avonhead road. £4030: Sturrocks road, £3310; Reeces branch drain, £6500: Highsted road. £640: Highams drain. £6690: Barnes road. £2540: Claridges road, £9840: Donalds drain and Reeces drain in Highsted road, £14,850: Reeces drain in Sawyers Arms road, £14,770; Withells road. £2940. Flood relief works: Breens road, £5110: Bridge street, £3560: Waltham area stormwater relief outfall. £199.400: Tobruk street. £5090: Waimairi road, £19.050. Stormwater outfalls for developing areas: Aymes road outfall and branches, £61,170: Awatea drain connexion to Heathcote river. £6380: Hei Hei road outfall, £25.950; Motorways corner, £36,710. Engineering and supervision were estimated to cost £21,470.
