New Group Protests

A new political group, urging . a cease-fire in Vietnam and a change in United States policy towards China, started a national campaign last night at 30 American colleges. The organisation, Americans for Reappraisal of Far Eastern Policy (A.R.F.E.P.). said it intended to demonstrate its concern for the present course of American policy “not by civil disobedience but by education.” The meetings were addressed via closed circuit I telephone from Nev York by a number of national A.R.F.E.P. committee members, including a Socialist, Norman Thomas, and the editor of the “Saturday Review," Norman Cousins.
