REBEL HEAD CAPTURED
(N.Z. Pres* Asin—Copyright) BLANTYRE (Malawi) October 19. An Army patrol has captured the rebel leader. Medson Silombela, in East Malombe, a village eight miles south of Fort Johnston.
His arrest last night was regarded as bringing an end to the rebellion against the Malawi Premier (Dr. Banda) which Silombela led.
Silombela took over leadership of the rebellion after the former Minister of Local Government Mr Chipemere fled to the United States earlier this year after the failure of an attempted coup. Silombela had a price of £2OO on his head for treason murder, and robbery. ’
