KASHMIR ATTACKS
(N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) NEW DELHI, Oct. 18. India claimed today that Pakistani troops attacked across the ceasefire line in Kashmir with mortars and machine-gun fire. It said the attack was repulsed and the Pakistanis suffered some casualties. An Indian Defence Ministry spokesman said a total of seven cease-fire violations were lodged against Pakistan today with United Nations observers in the disputed area. The violations occurred in the Tithwal, Sialkot and Lahore sectors. In Karachi, a Pakistani spokesman charged that Indian Air Force planes violated Pakistani air space on several occasions. He charged India with violating the truce in all sectors of the front and said opposing sides exchanged fire in the Fazilka sector near Lahore.
