f.V.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, October 17. Well down in fuel after encountering rough weather during her 6000-mile trip from Lima, Peru, the weather picket ship U.S.S. Thomas J. Gary arrived in Dunedin at 10.30 a.m. yesterday in wind and rain. She will alternate weather picket duties with U.S.S. Calaterra at 60 degrees south as part of Operation Deep Freeze activities.
Carrying 14 officers and 180 enlisted men, she will leave for her first picket duty on Tuesday, returning after 27 days on ocean station.
