Collision With Truck
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Oct. 11
A seven-ton semi-trailer with a 15-ton load of timber hit a 50-waggon goods train near Kerang, 180 miles northwest of Melbourne early today, and sent 23 trucks hurtling off the track.
The driver of the semitrailer, Harold William Bell, aged 21, of Mansfield, had a remarkable escape when his truck was cut into three pieces.
The cabin was torn off and finished upside down near the train.
