WELCOME AT TAKAKA
Tour Of Nelson By Governor (N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, October 12. The Governor-General (Sir Bernard Fergusson) and Lady Fergusson were given a civic welcome at Takaka this morning. They arrived there by helicopter from French Pass where they stayed overnight. The chairman of the Golden Bay County Council (Mr L. Hitchcock) and the member of Parliament for Buller, Mr W. E. Rowling, spoke at the civic reception. The Vice-Regal party visited the memorial in the Abel Tasman national park and the Tarakohe cement works. After lunch they left by helicopter for Collingwood.
