37 Acceptors For Caulfield Cup

Thirty-seven horses, including the top New Zealand hopes, Royal Duty and Sail Away, are final acceptors for the mile and a-half Caulfield Cup to be run at Caulfield on Saturday. Unless there are sufficient scratchings between now and Thursday, the Victoria Amateur Turf Club will reduce the field to 20 starters, the maximum-size field that can be run with safety at Caulfield. I The race, which is worth I £13,000 and a gold cup valued at £4OO for the winner. £4OOO for the runner-up, £2OOO for third and £lOOO for the fourth place getter, will start at 5 p.m. (New Zealand time) I on Saturday. i Almost half of the final ac- | ceptors were bred in New I Zealand. They include Rochdale, Captain Blue, Sir Wynyard. Light Fingers, The Dip. Ziema, Rakaia, Carnival, Mat loch. Gay Filou, Prince Grant and Valuate. The barrier draw will be made on Thursday when the final composition of the field should be known.
