Stock Market Moves Back Into Balance
Trading ranged more widely yesterday- but the market came back into balance. Vibrapac Wellington featured with a rise of 2s 6d to 24s 6d and rights showed a firmer trend. Claude Neon shares, up 3d to 51s, and the rights, up 9d to 1 Is 9d, both improved further. Consolidated Brick rights rose 2d to Is lid and Winstone rights 4d to Ils Bd. Television stocks again eased with Autocrat down to 12s 9d, Bell at 32s 3d and Pye at 17s: all new low levels.
Australian stocks showed four rises and four falls. A.C.I. made the best gain with a Is rise to 48s. 8.H.P., G. J. Coles and Mount Isa advanced narrowly. Swan, Ampol deferred, B.H.P. rights and Woolworths eased.
