CURRENT NOTES
HALLOWEEN TEA Members of the Christchurch Women’s Club garden circle attended a Halloween afternoon tea, yesterday. Guests were welcomed by the president, Mr L. P. Bennett. The programme was arranged by the director of the garden circle, Mrs C. G. Manhire and Mrs W. E. Olds. Items were presented by Misses Diane Rogens, and Joy Bendall, and Mrs Linda Haase and Mr R. Spiers and the Rev. Father J. Kortooms.
SENIOR CITIZENS About 100 senior citizens were entertained by the Port Citizens’ Club at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon. Thej’ were welcomed by the Mayoress (Mrs J. B. Collett) and entertained at afternoon tea. A gift quiz was conducted by Mr M. Forgie, of 3ZB. A birthday cake to mark the second anniversary of the club, was cut by Dr. N. D. Walker. The official accompanist was Mr B. Demicheli.
