Forgot The Girl
Jens Andersen’s girl friend said she would not see him any more. He went home, wrote to her that “no-one shall ever see me alive again,” and then disappeared. Andersen’s father alerted the police and a search was organised, but no trace of the 30-year-old man was found. On Monday night, he came home again, very much alive, but extremely dirty and with a terrible smell. He had climbed down into the public sewer system and thought about his lost love for four days and nights. “Never mind about the girl,” he said, “I want a bath.” —Copenhagen, October 12.
