Superintendent Of Police
Chief Superintendent A. C. Wade, of the Christchurch police, has been appointed in charge of the Hamilton district. Mr Wade will replace Chief Superintendent E. W. Mahood, who will head the Auckland district after the retirement of Assistant Commissioner A. G. Quin next month. Mr Wade recently returned from Australia where he completed a senior police officers’ course in Sydney. Since January, 1964, he has been in charge of the Chrfstchurch C. 1.8. and was formerly chief inspector at Greymouth and inspector in charge of prosecutions at Auckland. His police service dates from the 1930’s and includes periods in both the plainclothes and uniform branches.
