Thrashed Child With Belt

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 11. When William Tupe, aged 25, arrived home from a hotel to have a meal he became annoyed when his 22-months-old child would not eat, so he thrashed her with his belt, Senior-Sergeant R. S. Austin told Mr R. M. Grant,-S.M., today.

Tupe admitted assaulting the child. The Magistrate convicted and remanded Tupe for a week for sentence.
