Extra Race At Addington
The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club has decided to run a nine-race programme at its meeting at Addington Raceway next Monday night. The club received 32 acceptors for the Novice Stakes, a race for three-year-olds, and permission was granted by the Trotting Conference to run this as two separate races.
The club had done this in an effort to keep faith with the owners and trainers of three-year-olds who were attempting to prepare them for races such as the £2500 New Zealand Derby Stakes next month, said the president of the club (Mr R. W. Saunders). The T.A.B. double will be run on the Qualifying and October Handicaps. An on-course will be run on the Raceway Stakes and the Committee Handicap. Acceptances:—
