Marginal finning by the £ against the United States dollar and some European currencies was seen last week. However, the Canadian dollar was slightly firmer. Altered telegraphic transfer exchange rates advised yesterday by the Bank of New South Wales: New Zealand on.— New York: Buy, 2.7982 dollars (against 2.7978 the week before); sell, 2.7665 dollars (2.7661). Austria: 72.64 schillings (72.63); 71.09 (71.08). Canada: 3.0090 dollars (3.0105); 2.9706 (2.8721). France: 13.79 francs (13.80); 13.50 (same). Italy: 1758 lire (same); 1721 (1720). Japan: 1020 yen (1019); 997 (same). Netherlands: 10.13 guilders (10.12); 9.91 (9.90). Spain: Selling, 165.00 pesetas (164.90). Sweden: 14.56 crowns (14.55); 14.25 (14.24). West Germany: 11.28 marks (11.29); 11.04 (same).
