Mr H. P. Wise, principal of the Christchurch Technical High School, will retire on January 31, the day before his school reopens as the new Hagley High School as a result of the merger with the Christchurch West High School. Mr Wise has served 40 years at the Technical High School—this last year as principal, Messrs R. L. Bruce and D. G. Rhodes (Christchurch), G. I. Gould (Nelson), and M. B. McCallum (Blenheim) have been admitted to membership ' of the New Zealand Society of ■ Accountants with the status of associated registered accountant. Mr D. N. Sinclair (Ashburton) has been transferred to the status of associate public accountant. Mr N, S. Wills, representing associations of employers, was welcomed as a new tnembar of the board of the Christchurch Technical Institute when it met last evening.
