Uncertain Start To New Trading Week

Trading started the week uncertainly and within narrow limits on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. New Zealand issues followed an easier trend, while overseas stocks showed rises just ahead of falls.

C. and A. Odlin featured with a rise of Is to 21s 6d on news of higher profit and a lift in dividend. Rights again kept the market aliye, but this section was variable. Only F.A.C. rights and Consolidated Brick rights firmed.

Advances were made in the overseas list by National Mortgage, up 3d at Ils 6d, Boral, Up 3d at 18s 9d, G. J. Coles, up 2d at 12s 2d, and Woolworths, up 4d at 12s.
