SOFT DRINK BOTTLES
Ban Wanted On Poisons
The Cordial Manufacturers’ Trade Group of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association strongly believed that there should be definite legislation prohibiting the packaging of poisonous substances in soft drink type bottles with a crown top, said its chairman (Mr W. V. Cowles) yesterday. The association decided this week to recommend that the N.Z. Soft Drink Association take this matter up with the Government, he said.
At this week’s meeting of the Canterbury group members had said they were concerned that soft drink bottles were being used by manufacturers as containers for weedkillers, poisonous sprays, kerosene, and other poisonous substances.
