LOST AT SEA
Wellington Woman (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. Miss Kathleen Ginning, aged 64, of The Terrace. Wellington, was lost overboard from the 11.000-ton Port Victor last Friday.
The news was broken to a large party of her friends who waited at Pipitea wharf on Sunday to welcome her. The Port Victor, a former aircraft carrier, was coming to New Zealand from London by way of Panama. Miss Ginning disappeared between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. while huge seas were running, said a member of the crew.
The vessel put about and searched, but without success. News of her disappearance was radioed to Wellington. Miss Ginning, who had been visiting relatives in Britain, was believed to have no kin in New Zealand.
