No Apparent Progress
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) RAWALPINDI, Sept. 15. Fighting continued unabated today in three major sectors along the IndiaPakistan border, with neither side making any apparent progress, the Associated Press reported.
A Government spokesman in Rawalpindi said Pakistani forces repulsed Indian attacks in the Sialkot and Lahore sectors and Pakaistani forces were maintaining “constant pressure on the enemy” in the Khem sector.
The spokesman told a daily briefing that Indian forces launched a strong attack yes-
terday in two areas of the Sialkot sector. The Pakistanis threw air attacks, artillery and tank fire against the Indians, stopping the advance.
The spokesman said the Indian forces had suffered heavy casualties. India said today its troops had seized control of a 15mile section of vital railway
line outside the military base town of Sialkot, United Pres: International reported. Official sources in Bomba.' reported the first air raid in South India today. They said unidentified planes, believed to be Pakistani, were seen over Goa and Cochin on the west coast of India, but no bombing was reported.
