Kiwi Team Selected

ILKLEY. Sept. 14

Four men who have played for Britain and two wellknown South Africans are included in the powerful St. Helens side to play the New Zealand Rugby League team at St. Helens on Wednesday. A strong set of forwards include M. Hicks, who has been named in Britain’s first test side, the props, G. Watson and J. Tembley, and the hooker. R Dagnail. The two South African wings, L. Killeen and K. T. Van Vollenhoven, help to form a powerful back-line.

St. Helens have not been beaten this season. New Zealand has included the utility player, R. B. Tait, at stand-off half. The Kiwi team is:

J. E. Fagan: B. T. Reidy, L. P. Brown, R. W. Baily, P. M. V White; R. B. Tait; W. L. Snowden (captain); G. V. Mattson: E. Moore, J. K. Dixon; J. K. Edwards, C. E. O’Neil, H. K. Emery. Reserves: back, F. R. Christian; forward. R. I. Orchard.

League Referees To Play Coaches

The former New Zealand Rugby League representative. C. Paskell, will make a brief comeback when he plays' for the Canterbury schoolboy referees against a coaches XIII at Kaiapoi on Sunday.
