Most Rugby Points
Linwood has won the Evans Shield, awarded to the club gaining the most competition points in the Canterbury Rugby Union’s competitions. Final points were: Linwood 192 J, Christchurch 191, New Brighton 173. Final placings for the Red path Shield were: Christchurch 147, Linwood 1425, New Brighton 141. The Linwood under 6st 7lb A team has been awarded the referee’s golden jubilee cup for the 1965 season. Final placings were: Linwood 36.88 points. Xavier College under 19, 36.33, Burnside A under 6st, 36.07. The match between Canterbury and Wanganui wall be played at noon on Saturday to allow spectators to listen to the broadcast of the fourth test.
