POINTS COUNT NEEDED
North Canterbury beat Ellesmere by 212 points to 196 in a closely contested representative indoor bowls match played recently at Lincoln. Both teams drew with 14 games each, making a points count necessary. Ellesmere won all four rinks games, with North Canterbury winning six of the eight pairs games. Each team won eight games in the singles.
Butterfly Title.—Ada Kok, of Holland, clipped half a second from her own 200 metres butterfly world record with a time of 2min 25.35ec on Sunday.
