r.V.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 13. The Cook Strait ferry Aramoana struck the west side of its berth while manoeuvring in a gusty wind about 5.35 p.m. today. Chains one inch and a half thick were snapped
by the impact and wooden sections of rubber sprung piling were splintered and broken. But the Aramoana left on the return trip to Picton on schedule. The extent of the damage to the berth will not be known until tomorrow.
