The cause of the jam in the Auckland courts and in courts throughout the country is a submission in the Supreme Court in Christchurch last month that there is no legal authority for traffic lights. Until Mr Justice Wilson delivers his reserved decision on the matter no case involving traffic lights can go ahead. The acting Senior Magistrate in Auckland, Mr H. Jenner Wily, said tonight that a substantial list of adjourned traffic light cases had been building up since August. “All the days at the end of this month are now filled and we are adjourning cases until October,” he said.
