(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 13. The new Auckland International Airport is getting more use before it is open than it will in the peak month, January. Air New Zealand’s two DCS jet airliners made 526 take-offs and landings between the arrival of the first aircraft on August 4 and last Thursday.
In January, with five airlines operating overseas services with jets and Electras, there will be 195 arrivals and 195 departures. The first Air New Zealand DCB made 314 takeoffs and landings in August , and the second, which arrived on August 24, made 56. For the first nine days of this month, two airliners made 156 take-offs and landings.
