PASSAGE DENIED
Ceylon Not Involved
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) COLOMBO, September 13. Ceylon has firmly rejected an Indonesian request to take military planes through Ceylon to Pakistan, Foreign Ministry officials said today.
The sources said the request was made on Saturday. The sources said the Ceylon Government had decided to be strictly non-aligned in the Indian-Pakistani conflict as both countries were friends. No clearance would be given to aircraft or vessels carrying military equipment or staff to pass through Ceylon to either India or Pakistan.
The clearance requested on Saturday had been for aircraft carrying staff from the Indonesian Staff College to Pakistan, usually reliable sources said.
