Elmwood Play Commended
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, September 12. The winning play in the finals of the British Drama League’s festival, held in Palmerston North on Friday and Saturday, was the “Escape of Harry Springer,” a New Zealand drama by Kenneth McKenney which was produced by Philip Dick for the Community Players’ Workshop, of Auckland. Highly commended by the judge, Miss Frona King, of Nelson, were the Milton Drama Club’s “The Long Wait” and “The Wedding,” produced by the Elmwood Players, of Christchurch.
