TO TOUR AUST.
Te Wiata’s Porgy** (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. The New Zealand Opera Company’s production of “Porgy and Bess” would tour Australia, the chairman of directors of the company (Mr F. Turnovsky) said today. “We are delighted to have concluded arrangements with the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust jointly to present this opera in Australia,” Mr Turnovsky said. Inia Te Wiata would play Porgy and would again head the company. A few changes in the ?ast would be inevitable, but essentially the show would be the same as on its tour of New Zealand. Mr Turnovsky said “Porgy and Bess” would probably open in Brisbane on November 8. Later, the company would play in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. The - season in Adelaide would be part of the Adelaide FestivaL
