<N Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 2. Neville James Shaw, aged 26, a pipe fitter, was today I placed on probation for two years when he appeared on two charges of car conversion. Mr H. Jenner Wily. S.M.. ordered him to pay £165 restitution for damage to one of the cars. Last week the Magistrate commended three young men who -aught Shaw when he ran off after crashing a car into a pole at Meadowbank. Messrs lan Mellsop, aged 21, David Odhams, aged 20, and Wayne Bourne, aged 20, who lived nearby, held him after a brief struggle, the Court was told.
Scout Course. Twentyeight boys will take part in a course for scout patrol leaders at the Harewood scout den this week-end Mr H. W. Mil lard will lead the course, which is directed at teaching the patrol leaders the art of leadership, and at giving them a greater understanding of their responsibilities.
