(N.Z.P.A. -Reuter —Copyright) EAST BERLIN, September 1. An East German swimming team broke the world record for the 4 x 110 yards freestyle relay last night with a time of 3min 38.1 sec. This cut 3.6 sec off the record set by an American team at Cardiff on August 21. Another world record was broken in the men’s 4 x 110 yards medley when an East German quartet returned 4min s.4sec. The previous best was 4min Bsec, set by a Russian team last year.
