Canterbury 6 In S.I. Team
Six Canterbury players are included in the South Island team selected by Mr A. Fraser at the conclusion of the South Island under 16 schoolboys’ soccer tournament in Christchurch yesterday.
The 14 players named were: M. Mackenzie (Otago); G. M. Adam (Canterbury A). J. G. Reid (South Canterbury), K. J. Bethwaite (Nelson): G. C. Boomer (Otago), M. R. Ferguson (Otago, captain), P. Hyland (Canterbury B), S. A. Squire (Canterbury A); J. C. Carter (Otago), D. J. Stenhouse (Otago), M. J. Ellis (Canterbury B), S. McAlpine (Canterbury A). R. Beaumont (Canterbury A), P. E. Burridge (South Canterbury).
In the final match of the tournament yesterday, the Possibles beat the Probables, 5-4.
