New Times For Swimming
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) BERLIN, Sept. 2. The East German swimmer, Frank Weigand, yesterday set a new world record for the 110 yards freestyle, Associated Press reported. His time of 53.75ec bettered the old mark of Bobby McGregor (Scotland) by o.2sec. Another East German swimmer, Egon Henninger, broke the world 220 yards breaststroke record, with 2min 30.6 sec.
This was eight-tenth of a second faster than the record set by Georgi Prokopenko (Russia).
