DEPUTATION OF V. CONG
Govt. Decision Contested (N.Z PA -Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, September 2. Earl Russell said yesterday that he refused to accept as final a Government decision to bar from Britain a deputation of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, the political arm of the Viet Cong. Lord Russell, the chairman of the Committee for Peace in Vietnam, said he had asked the Home Secretary, Sir Frank Soskice, to receive a deputation which would press him to reverse his decision not to grant visas to the Vietnam group. The Government’s decision violated the British tradition of freedom of speech, said Lord Russell, and he and his colleagues would launch a national campaign aimed at reversing the decision.
