£l20 For Model Hawk
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 11. A Government allocation of £l2O has been made for the construction of a radiocontrolled model hawk to scare birds at Auckland airport, according to an Internal Affairs Department ornithologist, Mr E. K. Saul. Mr Saul, who is working on the bird hazard to aircraft at the new airport, said today that the model was being made available by a Mount Roskill electrician, Mr A. R. Truman, free of charge. It was expected the model would be working at the airport before it was officially opened in January.
