WORK OF VANDALS.—Mr R. M. MacLean, senior field officer of the Lands and Survey Department at Timaru, inspects a concrete post in a fence line on Barker’s block in the Valetta farm settlement in Mid-Canterbury. The post has been used for target practice. Before the area was more closely settled many posts were damaged by rifle fire in this way, but more recently there has been less of this.
