A fifth edition of “The Book of Flags,” by Vice-Admiral Gordon Campbell, V.C., and Mr I. O. Evans has been published by the Oxford University Press. Since the first edition appeared in 1950, this book has been recognised as one of the best introductions to flag study that one could have. Some new material has been added, and necessary revisions made to a book which is both entertaining and a satisfactory work of reference.
